At the July 27, 2009 special board meeting, the conceptual building design developed by the firm Penchansky Whisler and the integrated design team including HopkinsBurns Design Studio (preservation architects), JJR (land planning and design), Sellinger Associates (mechanical engineering), Neil Adams Lighting (electrical and lighting design), and Integrated Design Solutions (technology) was adopted.

 

At the October 15, 2009 regular board meeting, the building project budget developed by Penchansky Whisler, Tom Marchesano the Library's Owner's Representative, and Skanska Construction, after review by the Planning Committee was adopted.

The architecture firm of Penchansky Whisler has been selected by the Planning Committee on behalf of the Board to develop a conceptual building design for the renovation and expansion of Cromaine in the Village.

The building program document is a description in words and numbers of the service and operational requirements for the proposed library building. The program serves as the library’s written instructions to the architect in beginning the design process. The program is concerned with how the building is to function rather than how it will look.
