Friends of CDL
In 1976 the Friends of Cromaine Library was formed to assist the library financially and through volunteer services. The Friends elected as their first officers on April 20, 1976: President, Sally Farabee; Vice-President/Treasurer, Judy Dunn; Secretary, Rita Vadasz and Director, Jackie Collins.
Since the Friends have been organized, they have held successful book sales, geranium sales, a puppet sale, sponsored a chamber concert, assisted the Stagecoach Inn Questers in their annual Hobby Show and provided photocopier service, purchased equipment, funded programs and provided volunteer services for the library to name but just a few of their efforts.

Library Awards
In 1980, the Library received the coveted American Library Association and H. W. Wilson Company's John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Award for their "successful fund raising program that used the news media to inform the community of the need for a new library building".
The Cromaine Library was again recognized in 1984 by the American Library Association and H. W. Wilson as a John Cotton Dana Public Relations Award "Notable" Library of the Year Runner Up - 1992, 1995.
