Cromaine District Library has served the Hartland area since 1927. We plan to continue serving another 80 years and more as your public library in whatever form that may take. As one of the first institutions conceived and created through the beneficence of J. Robert Crouse, this library will continue to offer enriched cultural, arts, and literary experiences to all of this area.

Google-like library catalog search tool launched! Find Books & More now uses a simple google-like search window for all searches in the library's online catalog. Just enter any of the information you have -- author (first-last names in any order), title, subject, or a few keywords -- in the single window and enter. Matching items return and possible ways to narrow down your matching items appear on the right side. Narrow your search by location, format, subject, and more.

The Big Read - February 2009

Thank you for being a part of our Big Read at Cromaine Library! Almost 5,500 community members attended our programs, and over 1500 of you received copies of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Our Big Read was supported by many local organizations, including Macy’s, Comcast, the Friends of Cromaine Library, Livingston County Press & Argus, Walmart, Target, Printcomm, Livingston Diversity Council and Meijer, among others.
