Teen Advisory Board

Thursdays, March 3, April 14, and May 5 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm

TAB (Teen Advisory Board)  Join TAB and help plan and carry out library programs, select books for the Teen section, work on projects, talk about books, music, and movies, and meet other teens.  Snacks provided. Drop-in - Village.

 

FUN & GAMES

TEEN TECH WEEK

March 6 - March 12 

All week long come to the 2nd floor of the Village library and take a tech survey each day. At the end of the week a winner will be chosen from all of the entries.

Cartooning with the Best – Learn how a cartoonist uses drawings, panel size, and crazy sound effects to immerse their readers in the story! Cartoonist Jerzy Drozd will lead you in an interactive discussion on some of the fundamental comics storytelling principles, after which you’ll be invited to create a short comics story of your own! For grades 2 and up. Registration required - Village.

SRC Promo for Film Makers! – Calling all film makers, writers, actors, artists and photographers!  Help spread the word about the Summer Reading Club by making promotional videos, posters and web pieces for all ages. Registration required - Village.

Karaoke at Cromaine! – Are you the next Glee star or American Idol just waiting to be discovered? Do you just want to sing and have a blast doing it?  Show off your stuff and join us for some wild karaoke fun!  Sing a solo or jam with a group of friends. Snacks provided.  Drop-in - Village.

Teen Book Club

Third Friday of the month at 4:00 pm

Friends don’t let friends read alone! – Join us for the Teen Book Club where we will discuss: 

March  18: Unwind by Neal Shusterman

April 15:  Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya

May  20:  Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman

Desort, documentary filmmaker and photographer, will present a workshop on photography and film making for budding filmmakers. Registration required - Village. Livingston Reads 2011.

Funky Flip Flops and Bedazzled Bandana Bags! – Looking forward to some fun in the sun?  Make wacky, pretty, unique and creative footwear for the summer.  Turn a cheap, boring pair of flip flops into your new fashion statement.  Then make a bag to match out of bandanas to take to the beach or wear around town.  Registration required - Village.
