Sign Up for a Library Card
Get a free Cromaine Library card by completing this application for yourself, or each member of your household. Your library card entitles you to check out and reserve materials, and to access our online resources.
You may submit your application on this page if you are over 18 years old and a resident of the Library District. Other applicants must fill out a paper form at the Library.
Card Eligibility & Verification
Residents, property or business owners, employees of businesses, and students who attend a school in the Cromaine District Library service area are all eligible for a Cromaine Library card!
To apply in person, residents of the Cromaine Library service area must bring a driver’s license or State of Michigan I.D. card, with your current address, to sign up for a Library card. In lieu of these, we will also accept a car registration, utility bill, check, tax bill, lease agreement, or other identifying document that contains your name and current address. For online applications, see directions below.
Business patrons must apply in person. Bring proof of employment in the Cromaine Library service area, along with proper identification. A document that shows both your name and company or school, along with the address, is viable proof of employment. A letter written on your company or school’s letterhead, verifying your employment with them, is also accepted.
Students must have parent/guardian apply in person and show proof of enrollment in the Hartland Consolidated Schools, or the Charyl Stockwell Academy (Howell campus only), for the current school year. Proof of enrollment includes a report card, an email or letter from the school, or a student ID card. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian present to apply for a card and to show identification.
