Friends of Cromaine Library Pie Sale
Don't miss out on a delicious opportunity to support the Friends of Cromaine Library on Wednesday, November 26! At the Friends of Cromaine Pie Sale, visit the Library to buy a pie the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Your purchase helps raise funds to support the Friends of the Library! There will be a variety of pies for sale on a first come, first served basis. All pies are $15, and the Sale begins at 10:00 am and continues while supplies last.
Pies sell out FAST at the sale, and we can never have too many bakers! If you would like to support the Friends, please consider baking a pie or two to contribute to the Sale. You can reach out to Sandy Schemke at sschemke@yahoo.com to learn more about baking pies to donate to the sale!
Barbara's Wreaths of Gratitude
Barbara's Wreaths of Gratitude is a new Holiday initiative, held in honor of longtime Hartland resident, devoted community volunteer, and Library supporter Barbara Krueger, who championed the practice of remembering local veterans by placing wreaths at their graves each year. To participate, purchase a wreath pinup for one dollar each, and add your wreath to our display near the Circulation desk! All funds raised will help the Hartland Area Community Council continue the tradition that Barbara held so dear-- honoring the sacrifice and service of our local veterans with a visible symbol of gratitude during the Holiday season. This initiative has been extended to November 30, so be sure to visit the Library before the end of the month to add your pinup to our display!
Toys for Tots Toy Drive
Cromaine Library is once again hosting a Toys for Tots collection box this Holiday season! This initiative collects a variety of toys for the U.S. Marine Corps League to distribute to local families in need. To contribute, please bring a new and unwrapped toy, game, or gift to the drop-off box on the first floor of the Library by Monday, December 15. These gifts will be collected, organized, and delivered to children in need, ensuring that everyone can have a share of Holiday joy!
Women's Club of Livingston County Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is an initiative of the Livingston Women's Club, a volunteer organization dedicated to serving disadvantaged Livingston County residents through various projects throughout the year. Giving Trees are decorated with white paper doves, which each list an item needed by a person or family in Livingston County. To participate in this initiative at Cromaine Library, pick up a dove card (and "check it out" at the Circulation Desk), fill the wish specified on the card by purchasing the item needed, and return the wrapped gift to the Library by Thursday, December 4. Visit the Library to learn more and to select a dove, or learn more about Giving Trees here.
Ornament Sales for the Hartland Student Food Pantry
Our Holiday tree on the first floor of the Library is also decorated with a limited number of hand-carved and hand-crafted ornaments on the tree. Some are beautiful carved wood pieces, and others are upcycled and hand-painted chess pieces in a variety of colors. These adorable ornaments are available for purchase at the Circulation desk for $10 each, and proceeds benefit the Hartland Student Food Pantry! Be sure to stop by the Library and grab an ornament or two while they last.
There are so many ways to connect with your community this Holiday season. Whether you're looking forward to baking pies for the Friends Homemade Pie Sale or you prefer shopping for a neighbor in need, your actions make a tremendous impact on the folks of Livingston county. We look forward to seeing you at the Library soon-- be sure to shop the Pie Sale, stop by the Toys for Tots collection box with a new toy, or visit the Giving Tree to see how you can help spread a little extra Holiday cheer. And of course, we wish you a magical Holiday season filled with community, connection, and joy.
Happy Holidays!
